WORTH WILD

I am on the fence about whether escaping civilization was a smart thing to do. The spiritual enlightenment would be a neat thing to experience. Everyone should do it but if you are just trying to get in touch with nature, go camping. Go Far away were at least someone knows where you are and don't leave an enigma about your death like Evert Rulan. Double check and make sure you have the necessity needed for this camp site. Do not pull a Carl McCunn and not get a ride back to civilization. Let alone forfeit your chances with the wrong hand signals. Chris along with Carl McCunn starved and ran out of food and lost a lot of physical strength, not to mention frostbite. I would not try to take an adventure like Chris, Gene, John or Carl did mainly because it did not work out for either of them. I would do something quicker and something you don't have to train for years and testing your body like Gene had to do. I would much rather go parachuting 30,000 feet in the air, you might be able to see the curvature of the earth. Looking  down as you plummet to the ground see all the beautiful land marks that nature had to offer. When its time, pull the shoot and glide down(hopefully) safely and feel the adrenaline rush along with the sense of being a live. A lot like what the characters in the story were looking for. The only thing you have to do is jump out of a perfectly good air plane.
